Fiddlers Creek
Fiddlers Creek Mine, held under PL006033 by Core Prospecting, has a long history of underground workings dating back to the 1850s. Once mined for silver, lead, and gold, the site is now in active decline development, with first ore achieved in early 2025. The current life of mine is estimated beyond 2030 with modern drill-blast methods driving the new development.
Wedderburn Milling Facility
The Wedderburn milling facility, located at the historic Hit and Miss mine site, has been active since the 1960s. Once home to the state’s largest open-pit gold mine, it has since operated under smaller syndicates until Core Prospecting acquired it in 2018. Now trading as Vanning Resources, the site has evolved from a pilot mill into a modern 42,000 TPA processing plant, with new approvals paving the way for toll milling, flotation recovery, and a large dry stack tails facility.

Fiddlers Creek License Granted
On the 27th of October 2015 Core Prospecting was granted PL006033 by the Department of Economic Development, Jobs, Transport & Resources. The license area covers the historical Fiddlers Creek reef workings northeast of Avoca, Victoria.
