Wedderburn Milling Facility
The Wedderburn milling facility is operating on the mine site named the Hit and Miss, the mine and processing site has been active since the 1960 and in the 1980’s held the title of the states largest open pit gold mine.
The gold production from the site itself has been small in commercial context but has been active under the ownership of prospecting syndicates and small companies since the deposit’s discovery.
Core prospecting purchased the site in 2018 and we registered an ABN under the name of Vanning Resources for the business.
The processing plant on site during the acquisition was a pilot scale mill and was utilised to complete small parcels of ore and met testwork.
In 2024 the current 42,000TPA processing plant began construction and has the crushing, grinding and gravity circuit commissioned July 2025. The floatation circuit is expected to be commissioned in November 2025 and the dry stack tails facility is expected to be online by late 2026.
The latest workplan variation was stamped approved in mid-2025, an approval journey that started in 2018. The site now includes the approval for Toll Milling, Floatation recovery and a large dry stack tails facility.
